Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the work stress of employees at the Batang Hari Regency
Transportation Office. From the results of the research that has been done, it was found that the influence of the
Work Stress variable on Employee Performance at the Batang Hari Regency Transportation Office is negative
or has no effect. The results of the t-test for the Work Stress variable obtained a calculated t of -0.559 smaller
than the t table of 1.99962 (-0.559 <1.99962). For the F test, the F count was greater than the F table (25.070>
3.15) which means that the Work Stress and Emotional Intelligence variables have a simultaneous effect on the
Employee Performance variable. In the Determination Coefficient Test (R^2), the Influence of Work Stress and
Emotional Intelligence in Improving Employee Performance at the Batang Hari Regency Transportation Office
is 42.9% while the remaining 57.1% is influenced by other factors outside this study.
